Martin-Klein American Legion – Post #133

The American Legion is a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service-members and veterans.
The Martin-Klein American Legion-Post #133 is located in northern Maine on the banks of the St. John River in Fort Kent. The post is names after the first to casualties from Fort Kent of World War I, Private George F. Martin & Private Kenneth Klein, who were among the first to volunteer and the first two soldiers to be killed. They were members of Company D of the 103 Infantry and were killed May 10, 1918 on the Meuse Argonne Defensive sector.
The Legion also maintains a newly renovated (2017) banquet/meeting hall that is available to rent for private functions.
